Soft skills are even more important in the age of AI, especially for technical folks – yet there’s relatively few opportunities to actually learn them, and many damaging myths out there (e.g., that technical people can’t communicate). In this session, we’ll discuss why soft skills matter in the age of AI, unpack some of the common myths, and cover an important reframe: technical people actually have some key advantages when it comes to learning soft skills. We’ll also discuss, and practice, two skills live: communication and resiliency. A separate, but complimentary, second two hour session would focus on applying these skills to networking and interviewing.

Keynote: The AI-Human Edge: How Strengthening Social Muscles with AI Creates High-Performance Teams

Event Center

AI is changing everything—but are we ready for what it’s doing to our teams?

In the race for efficiency, automation, and AI-powered productivity, there’s a hidden risk no one is talking about enough—our social muscles are shrinking. As AI takes over more tasks, the very skills that make teams thrive—trust, collaboration, influence, and adaptability—are quietly deteriorating. The result? A workforce that’s hyper-efficient, but disconnected, robotic, and struggling to communicate at the human level.

But what if AI wasn’t the enemy of human connection—but the ultimate tool to strengthen it?

In this electrifying keynote, world-renowned speaker, author, and Workplace Performance Expert Henna Pryor reveals how to flip the script on AI’s impact—turning it from a relationship killer into a powerful catalyst for deeper collaboration and team performance. You’ll discover how to avoid the “social atrophy trap,” use AI to amplify—not replace—interpersonal effectiveness, and build a future-ready team that thrives at the intersection of high-tech and high-touch leadership.

Don’t just keep up with AI—learn how to make it work for your team’s greatest advantage.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Expose the hidden ways AI is accelerating social muscle atrophy—and how to reverse it
  • Leverage AI tools to spark stronger collaboration, not just faster communication
  • Build a future-ready team that excels in both technology and human connection

Soft skills are even more important in the age of AI, especially for technical folks – yet there’s relatively few opportunities to actually learn them, and many damaging myths out there (e.g., that technical people can’t communicate). In this session, we’ll discuss why soft skills matter in the age of AI, unpack some of the common myths, and cover an important reframe: technical people actually have some key advantages when it comes to learning soft skills. We’ll also discuss, and practice, two skills live: communication and resiliency. A separate, but complimentary, second two hour session would focus on applying these skills to networking and interviewing.

The Future of Hiring: The Next Generation of Talent

Sponsored by Allére Group

The world of work is transforming—fast. By 2030, over 50% of the U.S. workforce is projected to participate in the gig economy, signaling a structural shift in how companies build and sustain their teams. This transformation is especially relevant for the FinTech and InsurTech sectors, where innovation must move fast, compliance is tight, and access to top IT talent is a competitive advantage.

At the same time, generational change is accelerating these trends. Gen Z and Millennials are demanding flexible, purpose-driven, tech-enabled work experiences, while Boomers and Gen X are retiring or re-engaging as independent consultants. Employers must now balance permanent and contingent labor, leverage technology to ensure compliance, and cultivate culture across a hybrid workforce.

This panel—featuring voices from enterprise leadership, staffing strategy, academic thought leadership, and consulting—will explore how organizations can embrace contingent work, engage next-gen IT talent, and future-proof workforce models while navigating compliance, knowledge transfer, and cultural cohesion.

Speakers:

(Moderator) Mary Martin, Chief Revenue Officer, The Allére Group

Nicole Bolt, Founder & CEO, The Allére Group

Ed Troost, Director, Monument Consulting

Shannon Myhre, Senior Project Manager, Fiserv
